Robert J. Willis, MD, FAAP, is a board-certified pediatrician who provides exceptional care to his patients at Ludlow Pediatrics in Ludlow, Massachusetts.
Dr. Willis enlisted in the US Air Force in 1970, soon after graduating from high school, and was trained as a lab technician. He made further use of his lab skills throughout college and medical school while working in the medical lab at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Dr. Willis graduated from Springfield Technical Community College in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1974 and received his bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in Amherst, Massachusetts, in 1976. He earned his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts, in 1980 and went back to Springfield to finish his pediatric training at Baystate Medical Center in 1983.
Dr. Willis spent 10 years in private practice in Millinocket, Maine, before returning home to Ludlow in 1996. He’s owned Ludlow Pediatrics since 2000. In his practice, he enjoys caring for babies, children, and young adults, even those in college. He’s passionate about helping parents learn how to discipline their children without the use of force and maintains a professional focus on ADHD, asthma and allergies, obesity, and sports medicine.
Outside of work, Dr. Willis enjoys spending time with his wife, Wanda, at their home in Wilbraham, Massachusetts. They have three children, Amanda, Rachel, and Benjamin, all of whom are now grown and living successful lives away from home. He’s an avid photographer, hiker, biker, and cross-country skier.
